Pros:
This review of the Layla mattress takes a look at the newest edition to their first model, which has introduced many innovations to the mattress industry. The Layla Mattress is one of the very few beds on the market that use copper-infused memory foam and can be customized for different personal preferences when flipped over.
Layla Comfort & Feel
This mattress allows you to choose between two firmness levels by just flipping the mattress over. You can change layers without ever having to unzip the cover - all you need to do is swap the mattress from its soft side to its firm one.
The softer side of this model feels about a 6/10 on a scale (1 being most sensitive and 10 being most durable) while the firmer version would be around an 8/10 (with 10 being most durable). On top of that, there's 3 of high-density memory foam mixed with copper insulation and 2 of convoluted foam at the bottom for increased comfort—topped off with 1 at the top for an extremely supportive feel.

The soft side of the new Layla is great for this, with the plush materials in the upper layers helping mold to your body and provide that relief needed. All sleepers can benefit from its plushness because there isn't too much sinkage when you lie down on it. It's firm enough so you don't feel like you're sinking below the surface but also comfortable if you prefer softer mattresses.
It doesn't matter what sleeping position someone may have; they'll wake up feeling refreshed because they won't wake up feeling sore due to uncomfortable alignment issues or pressure points.
Layla Motion Transfer
Motion transfer was excellent with the Layla on both sides - we felt very balanced and comfortable through the whole process. Compared to a hybrid mattress, which has springs underneath providing plenty of movement, memory foam mattresses are capable of preventing excessive motion transfers by offering minimal movements and overall bounces. There wasn't that much movement when I would get in or out of bed, which is an issue for most people who sleep together with partners since they can easily bounce each other off onto different sides throughout the night.
Layla Off Gassing
The Layla mattress had a minimal amount of smell when we opened the box, which is great considering how it’s all foam construction and the fact that it comes compressed in a box. A slight off-gassing smell is normal for many memory foam mattresses, but the odor with the Layla bed wasn't too noticeable and dissipated quickly. You won't find yourself smelling chemicals or anything unpleasant while trying to sleep - definitely an important factor!
Layla Edge Support
Edge support for this mattress is average. While laying down it provides enough support to not have the roll off the bed sensation but sitting on the edge it does sink in quite far. Most people are only worried about laying down which is the case for us too. It performs nicely when laying down towards the edge of the mattress.
Layla Sleeping Temperature
The addition of the copper infused foam layer definitely worked, as we did not feel that stickiness one might experience if they slept on an all-foam bed. The thermal regulating material in this layer helped provide relief for those who sleep hot while also providing a restful night's sleep.
Notice how copper pipes are always cold to the touch? This is yet another instance where the mattress regulates body temperature and prevents overheating. A natural source of cooling via copper combined with a cool-gripping ThermoGel layer and open-cell memory foam does its part when it comes to avoiding heat buildup during the night. Not only that but since there is no latex or heavy chemical substances used like Boric Acid or Formaldehyde, unpleasant odors are reduced significantly thanks to high quality components being used.
